Sweetened and flavoured yogurt:
Yogurts are often available as sweetened or flavoured. Milma
provides a special yogurt “Misti Dahi” with a mango flavour.
HEALTH BENEFITS OF YOGURT:
1. LOWER CHOLESTROL:
Lactobacillus acidophilus and combination
of Enterococcus faecium and Streptococcus thermophilus lower cholesterol in
those who have moderate cholesterol levels.
It lowers total and bad cholesterol but
doesn’t increase good cholesterol.
2. HELP WITH LACTOSE INTOLERANCE:
It’s an alternative to milk; lactose improves
lactose intolerance in children and adults who doesn’t absorb lactose.
3. ENHANCE YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM:
Active cultures enhance the body’s immune
system by increasing production of gamma interferon’s which play a role in
fighting certain allergies and viral infections. They help to prevent
gastrointestinal infections (lactic acid inhibits growth of food borne
pathogens). Yogurt culture produces bacterocins which restore natural
intestinal cultures.
4. RELIEVES DIARRHOEA:
Antibiotics kill the useful bacteria in
intestine leading to stomach discomfort but Lactobacillus acidophilus produce
bacterocins which restore this.
WebMD recommended 125mL (4 ounces) of
yogurt taken twice daily throughout antibiotic treatment is helpful.
5. TREAT YEAST INFECTIONS:
Yogurt with active cultures helps gut, it decreases
vulvovaginal Candida (yeast) infections.
6. USE FOR IMPROVING FACIAL:
Clean your face, throat and apply a thin
layer of yogurt and leave for 20 minutes.
